Ms. Adela Maria Kim, Expertise in annulment on Marriage cases, has served as Judge in the First Instance at Chicago Archdiocesan Metropolitan Tribunal, Los Angeles Archdiocesan Metropolitan Tribunal, Madison Diocesan Tribunal, and Peoria Diocesan Tribunal for 29 years, May, 1997 up until March, 2025.
Ms. Kim also served as Defender of the Bond, Advocate, and Assessors for several different Tribunals, and as Judge Instructor in the Second Instance. She also served as Canonical Consultant, Advocate for a Women Religious Community.
Ms. Kim has given talks regarding marriage and its annulment process to various groups, i.e., permanent deacons, Korean community, Field Advocates, and parishioners. She also gave a talk regarding Marian Spirituality and Rosarium Virginis Mariae of Pope St. John Paul II to the candidates of permanent deaconate. She wrote several columns regarding marriage for the Korean Catholic Times.
Ms. Kim has been a member of Canon Law Society of America since 1998 up to the present time, and a member of Mid West Canon Law Society since 2000 up to now. She also has been an associate member of St. Vincent de Paul Society since 2013 up until 2024.
Ms. Kim is fluent in English and Korean languages.
